The Hunchback Statue

— March of 2019 —

This was a very unique project. As part of my Technical Design and Production 3 class my Junior year of collage, I was challenged to create a projection mapped singing statue that the main character could interact and sing too. This included pre-filming the performer, rear projecting his face onto a scrim like mold as well as sending a click track to the conductor so that the live orchestra can stay in time with the video. I constructed and built the statue’s frame and internals, then passed it off to our scenic artist to hand carve.
